Yuuki is a game concept artist, vis dev and illustrator. When I see her profile and the posts I can only think about one thing: she’s a truly complete artist. This comes from many points of view some of which are her ability to mix up the style and the techniques, the fact that she can illustrate a character in a million different poses and actions while keeping it consistent and the way she handles original pieces, the fan arts and the ones in the middle (where the reference is there but her take on the piece is clearly visible, the result is always altered with the style and the accents she wants it to have). Every new project is a pleasure to follow and when I see some of my favorite characters I get excited!
Remember when I said the fan arts are great? The first two pieces are from Howl’s Moving Castle and Kiki’s Delivery Service, respectively. Zoom in to take a look at the details, notice how different the styles are yet how beautiful the outcome is in both cases. They happen to be two of my all time favorites as well if we’re talking about animation movies, and pretty high on the list of all films to be fair. Needless to say I am amazed, her control over lights and colors is insane!
The last image is the fantastic “smart elegant rose-window witch”, a character design she fully explored and posted. The lady is really nice and multiple parts of the study are available on IG if you swipe the pics. Super interesting to see the steps and the different poses. Tops all choices the crazy dress, I love the colors and it’s sooo cool!
