Tessa Nelissen (@jessali_tn) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Tessa is an illustrator from the Netherlands now based in Norway. She draws digitally and has such a clean and cute style, the choice of colors is extremely pleasing she always goes for pastel tones that are calming and put you in a good mood.
She loves cats (like me!) and draws them a lot, finding the best positions and making them extremely “catty”, it means she is able to capture their nature and put it into the canvas. When she relates a cat to a person (sometimes it’s her with her cats) you clearly see the connection between the two of them and I really love that feeling.
The first image is Tessa’s piece to thank her followers for the support they give her, it’s such a nice idea and what a cute painting to do so! This is exactly what I meant: look at the two of them and tell me they’re not deeply connected by love. The azure robes are fantastic and every color pair in this illustration feels amazing, there are the right contrasts while there’s never a color that looks too bright or dominant. Really awesome!
The second pic is a wonderful and super funny kitten, it was a little part in a bigger picture but I think her choice to post it as a single, the real protagonist it is, was absolutely on point. So proud, it knows its the most beautiful cat in the world and it’s showing it for real. I love it, stole a smile from me and that’s amazing.
What do you think about Tessa? Do you also love what’s going on here?
