Sinix (@sinixdesign) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Sinix is a digital artist and teacher, aside from the brilliant art he proposes I think he has a great sense of humor, the kind I like. I discovered it cause I was looking at his patreon to know more about him (which is the point of this series by the way! looking at the person behind the art I’m sure many times we all “just” gave a like. This blog forces me to do it and I’m always glad when I do) and I found his introduction to be amazing. If you want the link is down below, I’m not spoilering anything here.
As far as painting qualities go you’ll find a big variety of subjects and techniques sporting wonderful results and if you like instructive videos his prolific YouTube channel is alive since 2006 (!!) providing useful free content I’m sure you don’t wanna miss.
The first piece is an amazing exercise not only on a portrait but on materials too! This wood study looks super cool and I’m sure it led Sinix into making more cause it’s not only pleasing to see I think it adds something to the piece to make it quite unique. I find it beautiful that the texture of the wood was used to represent things like in the hair for example, where it was perfectly used.
The second image is a self portrait and this time around the protagonists (after the author himself of course!) are lights and shadows, combined with amazing coloring. Another thing to note is this not so easy and super realistic beard made with a fantastic brush and a ton of seemingly random strokes.. if you zoom in you see the little details but as soon as you look at it as a whole it comes together very very well.
What do you think about Sinix? Do you also love what’s going on here?
