Rachel Winkle (@rachel_winkle) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Rachel is an illustrator from Spain, she loves to design both in digital and traditional medium female characters, animals, fantastic worlds and often enough puts them all together with high expertise. She mostly uses soft and tenuous colors and does it really well, there’s always room for good contrast and nice pairings.
One thing I noticed about her characters is that she uses the cheeks to gather the focus and gives them a lot of space, it’s a defining trait that I like a lot. It’s a unique style that I would love to see in a book as the main theme for all the characters, it makes them adorable.. sweet!
The first picture is a sticker and besides being really cute there’s actually something you’ve got to see on her IG profile because it requires a few seconds of video (you’ll find it on her post). So basically this sticker has colored parts that “glow” and if you move it around or up and down you’ll see them shining. It’s not the only one there’s more so if you like the idea take a look!
The second picture is a gorgeous compilation, I’m very happy you’ll see a lot of those sweet cheeks I was talking about! The characters are original they all have a personality, I mean look at how fashion the middle left girl looks! Or maybe the mysterious bottom right.. I kept it for last but you need to know I absolutely love the Princess Mononoke!!
What do you think about Rachel? Do you also love what’s going on here?
