Nataliе (@medusa_149) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Natalie is a digital illustrator based in Ukraine, she paints characters and portraits with a high attention for details and I really love how she takes care of shadows, in general. Her style is realistic even tho sometimes there are characters that feel more toonish, and when the reference is not fully a human figure than of course you can feel the fantasy style immediately, but she can stay on a fairly realistic path and paint it “as if it was real”.
As a bottom line I like the way she draws and paints faces, I dove deep into the subject lately and it’s waaaay tougher than you can imagine if you never really tried your best at it, so big props to her for this great skill.
The first pic is crazy good! The flames look beautiful and if you zoom in the higher section of the image starting from the neck and going up there is a plethora of details to look at, and they’re one better than the other. The jewels are fan-ta-stic! And then look at the hair, the eyes and the eyelashes, it’s just amazing. I also think she nailed the colors and the light coming from the fire below, it’s all consistent and beautiful.
The other two images are actually featuring some of my favorite characters from Attack on Titan (which I recently got into, and now I won’t get out till it’s over!). I like Erwin, Levi and Reiner a lot they probably get to my top 5 or close to it, so I chose these pics to showcase but she also made others and as far as the quality of the artworks goes they’re all gorgeous. There are also some other manga references on her IG so if you’re into that I strongly recommend a look at her feed!
