Maylee (@mayleemouse) is my pick for today’s talent!

Maylee is an illustrator based in Paris, France. On her feed you’ll find any kind of subject drawn, painted or illustrated in a variety of ways, but among them all I have to say I very much like her character design sketches for their unique traits and originality.
A common line on her artworks is probably the use of bright colors and in general an attitude to create highlights with the use of flashy elements. The result is an Instagram profile that never feels boring and often steals a smile, I’d say it’s joyful!
The first image is part of a “50 heads challenge” she posted. I encourage you to take a look at how many different traits she was able to incorporate in 10 faces, it’s not easy to avoid drawing the same kind of things over and over again especially when you have fifty to do! I love the hair styles, the beards (!) and the huge differences in noses and eyebrows. A very nice exercise that produced tons of characters to fantasize about.
The second image is a collection of posts and I have to admit I couldn’t resist to the central piece, I love Sailor Moon cause I grew up watching her on TV when I was a child. To show only Usagi I felt it was a little unfair, but luckily there was this image that also serves the purpose of giving an idea of how many styles Maylee masters, also spacing easily from digital to traditional mediums. Each has its own strenghts!
