Kali (@coffeekats) is my pick for today’s talent!

Kali is a traditional artist based in Bulgaria, she draws and paints lots of character designs mainly focusing on female portraits and every now and then adds some spice to the list. A lot of what you see from her is featured and revealed on her patreon where she includes details, notes, processes and more!
Often enough you’ll find a sketch on her posts, many of which she will finish and post completed later on. I find them amazing and also providing insights on her work, cause a pencil drawing on paper is in the end the easiest yet sometimes the prettiest way to express your ideas. Her skill in drawing faces is off the charts good so I’m always glad when I can admire the lines that are soon going to become a precious gem.
The first image is a commission she did and I think she put all her effort into it, trying to perfect it in every single detail. She shared a sketch, that in the end helped her build the final version, weeks before she was able to publish this one. I just wanted to say it cause I think someone might “discount” all the work that goes through one of her artworks. I love the colors and the shading especially on the neck, this limited palette worked wonderfully here producing an harmonious result.
The second image is her personal work for lunar new year, the year of the Ox. The lady via the horns really looks entangled to the Ox figure representing to me some sort of human-like expression of the animal and its nature. She adds finesse to the artwork even tho she is pictured like a decise and strong woman, a strange combination that makes it fantastic to watch, in my opinion.
