Justine S. Florentino (@justine.florentino) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Justine is a self-taught artist from Manila, Philippines, paints digitally focusing on realistic portraits and always impresses me with pixel perfect artworks. Every person has its own expression, details, hair style, shapes and so on, it’s really crazy to see how they all come out so well in the painting feeling natural and completely “human like”. How many faces would we recognize as beautiful, as interesting, given how diverse they can be? The answer is surely very many since all the ones I can see in Justine’s feed meet the requirements!
The first image is a composition of the Balckpink, a group I’ve come to like a lot lately. I find them all really well drawn and I love their eyes in particular. The level of the artworks is so high you could just watch the skin, the lips, the hair, anything really and it’s stunning. My favorite might be Lisa (top right for those who don’t know them) but it would be hard to settle on a single choice!
The second pic is Justin’s personal “#drawthisinyourstyle” and I find her gorgeous, it’s smart that she has decise traits so people can work on them as much as they like and in their personal style without losing track of the reference. The golden leaves being an example of this, or her almost white skin. Wonderful painting as always, and even this one grabs my attention for the eye, I don’t know I just love the way Justine does them.
What do you think about Justine? Do you also love what’s going on here?
