Juliet Meeks (@julietmeeksdesign) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Juliet is an artist and designer from New Orleans, she paints lots of flowers and enjoys doing so because she likes the freedom they give in the form of infinite shapes and colors.
A thing I’d love you to take a look at is her work in the fabric design area. I think that’s one of those things everybody lives with and touches everyday but rarely stops thinking “hey, someone had to create this design first”. Maybe it’s just me but that thinking alone opens up an entire world of possibilities and all of a sudden you will realize everything beautiful around you had an artist like Juliet behind.
The first image is so cute, she’s laying on the ground with her fabrics and I can feel the joy and the sense of accomplishment she must have gotten by looking at a real world object and seeing there’s her art in it. Beautiful photo, super cool composition, I absolutely love all the patterns, just amazing.
As you may already know I really like to get a peek at other people’s workplaces cause I’m a very curious person. I like to get inspired by them, see the tools they use and imagine how my studio could look like in the future. Aside from the beautiful paintings you see in the second pic I must say I see something super appealing in the background… I want more plants in my house! (going to get some really soon, I promise).
What do you think about Juliet? Do you also love what’s going on here?
I’d like to discuss today’s talent with you in the comments below!
