Johanna Springer (@johspringer) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Johanna is a freelance illustrator from Germany. She likes to get inspired by nature which is a wonderful source and makes it so there’s always something beautiful and original on her artworks. She has high skills both with digital and traditional mediums, she often draws on her sketchbook using ink and sometimes paints it with acrylics or even gouache, while many other illustrations are instead made digitally.
She is currently working on her own short graphic novel “A Wisp of Morning Air” and if you want to give a sneak peek on her profile there are a few slices you can put your eyes on!
“Daughter of the Forest” is the title of the first painting, it was done on procreate and you can see how beautiful this girl is.. enhanced with her natural crown of flowers she’s gorgeous. If you like this character I suggest you to go get a look at the sketch which is posted together with it on her IG feed, I find those preparative lines to be amazing aswell!
The second pic is a stunning illustration!! The ladies are so harmoniously connected with the plants, every line flows in the perfect direction keeping up the feeling of finesse and delicacy. For this piece the dominant color is also just amazing, this moss green tone she fell inlove with (partly through this artwork too, probably!) is really nice. Despite hiding the bodies where she felt appropriate this painting still gives a fantastic idea of the female curves and their preciousness and beauty, I like it!
