Jen Sweeney (@jsweeneydesigns) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Jen is just like me an artist who didn’t get to go to art school but found her passion for watercolors anyways, with great results I must say!
This makes me wonder how many people went through the same pattern…
If you’re reading this and you feel like it you could tell me in the comments how you became interested in art!
The florals I’m sharing here representing peonies and cherry blossoms are very well made, the lines are thin and the strokes are delicate.
I know she’s also a calligrapher, often putting together the two talents to create some beautiful pieces!
Something to learn for sure is the way she is mastering the wedge brush.
I see her using it a lot on florals which you can find plenty of but on different subjects too, so if you’re interested in that definitely check out her profiles for more details (and lessons!).
What do you think about Jen? Do you also love what’s going on here?
I’d like to discuss today’s talent with you in the comments below!

I love Jen’s style of watercolor painting. She has a very light touch and also makes it looks so easy and attainable for anyone wanting to learn something new. I followed her tutorial on Peony flowers and have made a few greeting cards to give.
Jen is a true inspiration to me. 💖

So nice to hear! She’s a great artist and teacher, I’m very happy you tried her peonies tutorial. It’s especially good when you get to make a gift out of a painting and some greeting cards look like the perfect idea!
