Jean is a character designer and visual development artist from Malaysia now based in Vancouver, Canada. She is an artist in the animation industry and her posts are often about her original works, even tho sometimes there’s a cute fan art here and there too (you’re about to see one that is spectacular!).
When she shares her studies you can have the pleasure to admire polished and elegant images, sometimes they’re perfectioned to the last detail and I like to explore them, too many times we “scroll through” too quickly when we should really take a minute to watch all the beauties an artist like Jean can give us. The first pic is suuuuuper cool, I love it so much cause I recently fell in love with the anime that dragged me into the manga (so now I’m reading that first!). The art itself is amazing and the most spectacular thing is that she put it on the polaroid frame.. I don’t want to spoiler anything here but I’ll just say I think this idea was spot on. Despite having to keep the clothes white I have the feeling she was very capable of making this piece look colorful, which is great.
The second pic of the kid running with the dog is as cute as it could be, on IG you’ll find a close up too where it’s clear the dog is having the best evening ever. I appreciate a lot the reflections on the street that look so real. Since we’re talking about it have you ever seen a dog running and being behind? No way, that’s a small thing but it’s super realistic, they always sprint ahead and feel awesome exactly like this one is doing. I want to hug it! Artworks like this one bring a smile on my face, and it’s there to stay all day.
