Garima Srivastava (@mylittlebasil.studio) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Garima posts a lot about flowers on their own or in various jars / pots. You’ll also find food and animals, and most of the times her paintings are made on a white background letting the subject be the true protagonist of her work.
I really love the creativity she puts in every single one of her pots, the texture and the flower inside are always different. I suggest you to take a look at her feed for those!
All three of the artworks are showing a different kind of flower with a loose style, the peonies are on a strongly textured paper and if you look at the picture you’ll be able to see it and appreciate how well she used the effect getting the best from the material.
The first one strikes me especially for the flowers she made using negative painting. Did you notice it? It’s the background defining the shape of the subject!
What do you think about Garima? Do you also love what’s going on here?
I’d like to discuss today’s talent with you in the comments below!
