Flor Vazquez (@flori_dibuja) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Flor is a 2D background and color artist from Dublin, Ireland. She also worked as a lighting artist and colorkey artist in the past. Her artworks are fascinating to me cause they all look so clean, polished and refined like they’re all ready to be the scenes of the next animation movie I’m gonna watch on the big screen (when it’s going to be possible of course!).
Her style is colorful and I especially like all the illustrations featuring water of some kind cause I think her ability to work with reflections and lights there is just amazing. She changes subject pretty much every painting so the IG feed is super diversified and it’s really enjoyable to watch.
The first image was part of a post in which Flor shared a bunch of studies and if this low sun with one of the most amazing reflections I’ve seen in a while is not your cup of tea she’s got you covered with a second one (on colder tones), a street view and a third seascape where the shores look fantastic and it seems like the sun just went down moments before. Summer memories coming up in this little tour!
The second pic is astonishing! First of all the canyon is soooo well done all the rocks show she really cared and put her focus on every single little crack and shade there is. But the dinos walking in this almost dried up river.. Oh those are fenomenal! Just zoom in and look at the one leading the pack, its foot splashing some water is a wonderful detail. When I saw it I was speechless. Tremendous work
What do you think about Flor? Do you also love what’s going on here?
