Eudes Correia (@eudeswatercolor) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Euder is a Brazilian artist working from Lisbon, he started as a designer and illustrator but is now mainly focusing on watercolors. I enjoy his portraits very much, he primarily choses to paint people from the city drawn while they’re living their usual routine.
I associate the turquoise color with his art cause he always finds a way to use it on the portraits, whether it is on a shirt, on a little detail, in plain sight or hidden somewhere where you wouldn’t expect it.
The first image you see here in the post is perfect to highlight how he likes to work with watercolors, painting two layers dry on dry. I especially like the transformation the subject gets from a step to another becoming lively and detailed.
The old couple is not a subject you’ll see everyday and I appreciate this painting a lot. He has a good way of driving the attention to the focal point by blurring the colors and shapes in the lower part of the painting. Take a moment to look at the men’s shirt, the pattern on it is superbly done!
