Endre Penovac (@endrepenovac) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Endre is an artist from Serbia, he paints many subjects and I’m sure in his career he tried all sorts of styles and different ways to express his art, but today I wanted to include him specifically for a reason: I love animals and I’ve never seen someone paint them as Endre does.
There must be something in his style that catches me off guard, I can’t explain it, the figures I see aren’t just drawn there they speak to me, they have emotions, their simplicity and naturalness is simply disarming (cats are among my favorites and he paints plenty of them, I just adore them all!).
This little furriend is so perfect, the snow covering its fur is really on point and the eyes looking at you are the element that set this painting apart, it’s trying to understand you, checking your moves and predicting the next one. Impressive work.
The ram is superb, Endre used a wonderful technique to represent the wool. And look at the chicken, he said it was a windy day and what an effect he gave to the feathers. All of it with an elegant touch of red that balances the painting and seals the deal.
What do you think about Endre? Do you also love what’s going on here?
I’d like to discuss today’s talent with you in the comments below!
