Dia Jamandron (@redpeoke) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Dia is a visual dev and background designer working in the animation field, based in Los Angeles, Calfornia. I really love all the works both the ones posted colored and the ones that are not cause they show the true nature of the sketch, all the efforts on the shadows and ultimately they hold the values of the colors even if that step has yet to come. You clearly see the artist has in mind a thing and creates the subject and the composition not worrying about the tones that will complete the artwork. When there’s color on the contrary that’s probably the most fascinating thing alongside the drawing itself cause I rarely see bright spots and I love the calm and chill vibes I’m getting.
The first image is a masterpiece in my opinion, not only the whole pic is just too good but if you zoom in and take a look at the textures that were used here you really see the next level this artwork sits in. As I said already the absence of a super bright color or spot is not to be missed here, I actually think this work is charming because of the wonderful dim colors.
The second pic is gorgeous, I like this style and I think the people feeding the ducks down there look so good, at first glace I missed them (!) cause the color scheme is similar to the one of the animals, but it all came together when I saw them. The ducks are obviously all swimming towards the food and the three guys will have a ton of fun!
What do you think about Dia? Do you also love what’s going on here?
