Dhritikana Nath (@watercolor.illustration.letter) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Dhritikana is yet another superb watercolor artist that comes to join the series for her beautiful paintings. On her feed she posts tons of pictures of landscapes, animals, flowers, house facades, nature in general and more!
Of all things I really love her sky paintings, no matter the weather or time of the day.
She can use a lot of colors to paint the sky and her blending technique is always on point!
The whale study is a very nice painting looking like a page straight out of your journey diary. She took notes on the side describing the color she used to paint the whale (Payne’s Grey with different values) and the sparkling ripples on water.
Take a moment to look at all the layers she put on the flower artwork. The brightness of the subjects and the darkness of the background match very well together.
At first glance it’s easy to miss but if you look carefully she used some negative painting to define some of the the leafs and stems.
What do you think about Dhritikana? Do you also love what’s going on here?
I’d like to discuss today’s talent with you in the comments below!
