Corah Louise (@corahlouiseillustration) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Corah Louise is a freelance illustrator, character designer and storyteller based in the U.K.. After looking at her art on IG I felt inspired by a piece of her bio on her personal website (link below) where she shares a concept that’s concretely making my day better, she said: “Being creative is my connection to the world, whether it be through illustration, photography, writing or crafting – creativity translates over all languages.”.
I think those words are beautiful, I can relate to them and it brings me joy to see there’s someone else out there taking art and creativity as the main vehicle to connect with the world. The second part about creativity being an horizontal feature of a person is so true, I also like watercolor a lot, I’m now experiencing digital more and I find it awesome, I like photography too.. I mean if I feel the need to create and express myself I also never feel medium constraints. Free your mind and create something, whatever and in any way, it’s gonna be cool!
The first image of the switch is so nice! Look at that cute froggy, what do you think is it having a nice bath? Is it trying to stay up and holding on the corners? Did it just jump in? I find it funny don’t know why. I would love to have those joy-con cover leaves they really look super nice, but I guess that’s also because the frog and the semi hidden nymphoides on the background are giving them a cool environment to shine. I like this illustration a lot, the screen acting as a “real pond” is a cool touch.
Here’s Wednesday of the Addams family! Corah’s take on her is fantastic, i absolutely love the saw and the fresh blood on it, ahahah, it really gives her the correct “feeling”. She used it not so long ago since there’s stains all over and her backpack is hiding a chilling surprise! I appreciate the attention for details she had on this piece, if you zoom in and look for cool little spots you’re gonna find quite a few, awesome.
What do you think about Corah Louise? Do you also love what’s going on here?
