Boing (@boingbln) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Boing is an artist based in Berlin, the artworks are made with both traditional and digital medium and there’s plenty of really cute animals in there. I enjoy every cat, fox, bird or fish I see and part of it it’s because they always have lovely colors and big eyes. The pieces look perfect for children’s book illustrations exactly cause they’re all super nice and tender. Even the “monsters” look cute!
One thing most works have in common is the use of lights and shadows to empower the scene, especially light that often enough comes in strange or unusual forms. Together with animals there’s always nature so I guess all the basics for paintings I love are there. Very nice feelings scrolling the feed.
Ooooh the northen lights! So good! Did you notice the cat or the character first? I saw the cat waaaay before looking at the cave, which is super strange cause the focus comes from the warm spot on the right, but I can’t help myself.. I would catch a cat hidden in a pic a hundred times out of a hundred. In this one I love the sky and I also like the illuminated trees a lot, their shape is fantastic.
The second pic is so lovable, I want to think they’re friends but I actually believe I would say the little red bird: “you can play with your friend but you must stay up here on the tree branches!” cause.. you never know.. But look at the snow oh my words! Climbing up those trunks it’s so nice, and the sunrays coming in from the right, just spectacular!
