BLAKKI is an artist based in Moscow, Russia. She mostly paints digitally but sometimes throws a traditional artwork here and there. The most frequent kind of painting is surely the portrait, but very often she chooses to include a strange trait in the person making it look a bit demonic or strange in some way.
To pair with that style I have to say her profile is one the most colorful you can find around, using bright tones and original palettes that try to break out of the common schemes. Another one of the traits she owns must be the habit of filling all the canvas with shapes, colors, details of the environment and so on leaving very little free space. This creates a “full” profile to look at, with tons of things to put your eyes on.
The first piece is the perfect representation of all the qualities I highlighted above: a wonderful portrait with bright colors in a palette that’s not 100% conventional, the colors and the shapes around the face making it all look a bit like an experience more than a moment and a few stars all over the place for good measure. Strange, but so cool!
In the second pic the demonic side of the subject comes out strong, I absolutely love the red shift all the painting got taking the magical thing happening exactly where the viewer is set to be as the source of light. The shadows on the legs coming from the grass are awesome, a tiny touch that gives a lot to the artwork.
