Astri is a young illustrator and concept artist who also worked as a freelance in the past. The stuff you see on insta is mostly her “having fun” with sketches, studies and paintings after work. Whether it’s a fantasy style illustration or more of a human-like painting I love the fact she keeps them all super realistic, especially if we’re talking about the close portraits.
Hers is another one of those cases in which I’m actively looking for the fan arts of the characters I like most out of mangas, movies and such scrolling through the posts. All the paintings are so likable and precise there’s always something to learn.
The first image is the greatest occasion to admire a lot of Astri’s portraits cause she absolutely kills it when it comes to #faceyourart, her favorite art tag! She posts one of these once every now and then and they’re always crazy good. The characters I can recognize here are amazing I mean look at that San fanart for example, it’s fantastic! Also the central piece tho, which I can’t connect to anything else I know of, is just mindblowing.. the skin the hair the light, everything is perfect.
The second pic, a fantasy art, is really cool cause of all the details she decided to draw. I’ve been captured by that shiny foliage texture, together with the ears it certainly sets up the “elven” feelings. Another detail you might miss at first glance is the transparent veil on the arm, what a nice and gracious touch! Beautiful.
