Alix Harris (@cyanali520) is my pick for today’s talent!

Alix is an artist who paints primarily in digital, she makes lots of character portraits and designs. There’s a beautiful influx of diversity on her feed including all kinds of characters and color palettes, styles, poses, inspirations and so on. It’s impossible to find something that feels “old” in there.

The only common line I can find between all her artworks is the presence of a girl which I don’t mind at all personally, and that’s not even feeling bad cause as I said the twist on the clothing, style, skin, hair and all things makes it look like there’s nothing in common if you can discount being wonderful paintings. Sometimes ladies become little devils or gorgeous mermaids so that helps too!

The first pic is obviously my favorite sailor, Mars! When I was a kid me and my best friends were each relating to one of them and my love was totally devoted to her. I like how Alix painted those gorgeous pants they’re so classy, the shoes too are looking fantastic (and I also love that style in real life too!). Don’t forget the background, yes it might be a “simple” shape but it’s scratched, it was worked on to fit so good behind the lady, sometimes details make the difference.

Second girl is important cause the theme on her is strongly related to the artist. One of the major passions of Alix is astronomy, so she felt like giving life to this beautiful lady turning the gears around this time to make her a bit more astro-like. It’s nice to see that a feature like this can inspire a character from the hair to the sweatshirt. Remember I said there’s always something strange that helps the character feel fresh? Well, look at the ears, this in not a human it’s a space elf we’re talking about!
