Adam Duff (@adam_duff_lucidpixul) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Adam is an artist with a huge experience spread out in various fields. He worked as fantasy artist, concept artist, art director and animation teacher. All these things together help him be the well rounded artist he is and the results are just amazing, you’ll see in a second and I also hope you’ll see in the future on your own cause it definitely looks well worth it.
The only thing I might add at this point is “don’t miss the YouTube channel”. The link is below and if you pass I feel like you might be getting less than half of what Adam’s expertise is. The videos are very good, enjoyable, varied and there’s literally a lifetime of content already up so if you want more it’s there. The channel will also probably lead you to discover what lucidpixul is.
“Ascension”, the first piece, is spectacular. I think the games light is playing with this straight from the top angle are fenomenal, the shadows on the back of the character are so cool. Notice the details and how clean this artwork is, the quality is at the very top. I also love the interaction between the hand and the environment, it helps visualizing the creature in this place and defining the depth of the whole image.
The second pic is the “Soul Harvester”, a creature capable of destroying a soul without feeling bad about it. And if that’s the premise, the artwork delivers. The choice of blurring out some parts was perfect and the color palette fits amazingly. A scary girl for sure, the wyvern is like the cherry on the cake, filling the role of “the crow”, but doing it way better!
What do you think about Adam? Do you also love what’s going on here?
