Nada H (@nadaskii) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Nada is a self-taught digital artist from the Middle East. Her artworks focus mainly in creating suggestive scenes that can inspire through colors and light. Those two are in fact the main traits of her works and the ones that make the result differ from the rest of the world. She also gets inspired to create the awesome illustrations you see and that comes mainly from music and films.
The approach that leans towards using lighting as the main feature of a painting holds the benefit of creating many “wow” moment scenes and sometimes it also leads the viewer in the right spot without even making it difficult. Setting the focus of a painting in fact is so much easier when a good lighting does the job for you, and this allows for some more complex structures and compositions cause the result will always be clear.
“The way home”, the first painting: it’s crazy how the ray of light hitting the steps makes it feel so natural and real. Think about it, without that little line the lower part of the artwork would be dark and sad, everything is balanced out by that small detail which is holding it all together. Then of course the drawing is amazing and the rest of it seals the deal. The small sign of brightness that touches the person at the top on the left side is also super cool and very important, just to mention another one. A great work.
The second pic is wonderful aswell and I have to suggest you to go get a look at the steps cause she posted a quick process video on IG (patreons get more of this if you’re interested!). You really start to understand how she lives “light” in her paintings. The big circle resembling the one a camera would create when pointing at the sun is one of those things I can’t look away from. I’m stunned.
