Azamat Khairov (@mazarat) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Azamat is a CG artist and art director from Russia. In one of his latest posts he shared a few words regarding his career and his journey as an artist which I’m going to try to summarize here to give you an idea of who he is. So he loves to draw and always did it since he was a child, studied in art school and graduated, but then took a different path and worked a lot as a graphic/motion designer in advertising, doing video editing and such. His desire tho was always to be drawing more so he changed path to be a CG artist and now works as art director for a game company.
I like how the full journey saw him going left and right but in the end kept him on his passion, I think it’s important to know what you like and try to make it work, sometimes it’s hard but also rewarding.
The first image is a digital illustration in which I love to see how all the details were worked on pretty carefully, starting from the main figure up to the art in the background. The flowers in the foreground are also very nice! This one as many others is one of his artworks where the geometrical shapes are visible and do an amazing job at defining lighting while going pretty much unnoticed at a first glance, fantastic style!
The second pic is awesome cause he made the “moving” parts so well it gives the perfect impression. The girl’s hair (shouldn’t she be wearing a helmet? kidding!) and the blurred out background are fantastic, even the street below her is beautifully representing the speed and velocity she moves at. It’s not common to see art like this I like it a lot!
What do you think about Azamat? Do you also love what’s going on here?
