Brian (@brejanz) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
I would like to tell you how Brian filled his bio on IG, at the moment I’m writing this, to start things off: “Pen & ink….mostly.”. I had to bring this up cause not only I think it’s excessive modesty looking at how beautiful all the artworks are, certainly things I wouldn’t define with just “pen & ink” because they require such a high skill, patience and precision, but also because the sentence is discounting if you will, in a way, the colors he choses when he works with them and how good the illustrations look with such tones (if he goes beyond the ink and decides to add colors there’s usually a soft/pastel mixture of colors in the palette that I absolutely love). So if you want much much more than pen & ink, here’s what I’ve got for you:
The first image is wonderful in many ways, I like the windows a lot, I like the details, I like the pairing of the different styles the houses have and in the end look at the colors… That’s what I was talking about, the pastel colors are supreme they make the art so cute and relaxing.
The second picture is instead about the back of some buildings, I find it unique and very interesting cause he was able to focus on details and things in general you’d think it’s better to avoid, but he did it so well you can feel the reality coming out of the artwork, it’s genuine this way and it makes it cool. Plus it’s a view you probably wouldn’t be able to get otherwise, a deserved one in fact looking at the result. For one thing over all the others I really appreciate all the mismatches in the bricks. Once again high level of details for a great illustration.
What do you think about Brian? Do you also love what’s going on here?
