Phil Maltz (@maltzcreative) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Phil Maltz is an artist from London and he’s super focused on painting what he calls “London brickworks“. As you might imagine being all in on a subject often means that with time and talent the results are going to be just amazing and he’s no exception!
A thing I like about his IG profile is that often you can find super nice timelapsey-artistic videos where he puts a stream of rapid scenes in a sequence that’s frankly both well made and cool to watch.
The facades you see here represent some shops (he draws and paints lots of houses too, some under commission) and the style he uses is always a frontal view. The attention to details is superb cause to make it look real he goes over e-v-e-r-y brick in a different way and he puts things on the windows and on the street, plants and so on… a work for a true perfectionist.
Look at the signs above the stores, the lettering, the shadows, everything is on point. Sometimes if you look at the reference pic you clearly see how well the scene has been represented. Very very nice!
What do you think about Phil? Do you also love what’s going on here?
