Karla Alcazar (@karla_alcazar_) is my pick for today’s talent!

Karla is an illustrator from Mexico, former psychologist still intrigued by humans and the stories behind them so much that she now designs characters and creates them digitally.
She’s also a botanical aficionado and you’ll often see both her passions together. I like the style she uses and I like that I can try to imagine a story behind the characters, told by the details around them and mixed up by my imagination!
The girl with the cat is actually part of a popular challenge on IG called “draw this in your style”, where Karla took a reference pic and created the character her own way. Everything is so nice and I especially like the big head of the cat (it reminds me of my cat Lapis).
Notice how she beautifully balanced the curves of the hair with the edges of the characters!
In the second illustration you can see the plants paired with the girl and I really love how naturally she was able to fit such a contemporary element like the mask on her thoughtful subject.
